Worm Castings
Castings are a natural fertiliser made by worms. Our worms are fed a rich, part composted mix of green material and locally collected food scraps. As the worms eat through this compost, they create an optimal soil enricher; natures preferred fertiliser.
Worm castings contain water soluble forms of nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, calcium, trace minerals, important plant enzymes, natural hormones and a diversity of beneficial soil microorganisms. They contain 5 times the available nitrogen, 7 times the available potash and 1.5 times more calcium than is typically found in 30cm of topsoil.
A few benefits
Easily absorbed by plants ~ minerals in the castings are in a plant available form
Rich in soil microbiology ~ a balanced soil food web is essential for natural and healthy plant growth
Helps plants become healthier ~ balanced microbiology assists in disease resistance
Improves water retention ~ castings hold up to 9 times their weight in water
Slow nutrient release ~ naturally formed nutrients are released slowly as plants need them
Soil aeration ~ castings don’t compact easily, ensuring oxygen flow within the soil
Burn proof ~ castings are a balanced nutrient supply, without excessive nitrogen, and will never burn your plants
All-natural ~ our castings are chemical and odour free with no artificial pesticides
How to Use
- House Plants ~ 1 tbsp of castings around the plant and water
